Homeschool 101 Workshop

Date – Time

Friday June 12th – 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Location

The Loft
6260 US Highway 281N

Additional Information

COVID-19 has created lots of overninght homeschoolers, and many of you are considering continuing the lifestyle even after lockdown ends. If you are considering homeschooling, just getting started or in need of a refresher, this workshop is for YOU!

I will cover all the basics a new homeschooler needs to know. What exactly is homeschooling and when did it start? What are the laws here in Texas for withdrawing from school and homeschooling? What subjects are we required to teach? What are the different approaches to homeschooling? What support groups/co-ops/sports are available in our area? I will share some suggestions for curriculum and have a time for Q&A.

We will start serving refreshments at 6:30 and start the class promptly at 7:00.

This event is FREE, and you do not have to be a member of HCCH to attend.

We have a limited amount of space, so to promote social distancing, we have to limit the number of people who can attend. Masks are not required, but if you feel more comfortable you are welcome to wear one. This content is also available online in a powerpoint video if you are uncomfortable coming in person. Request to join my FaceBook Group called Homeschool 101 to see the videos.

Please RSVP, and cancel your RSVP if your plans change so someone else can take your place if needed. This is an adult only event, but nursing babies are welcome.

If you have any questions, contact Heather Neufeld at [email protected]. You can visit my website at homeschoolspecialist.com. I look forward to seeing you!
